COVID-19 Update: How Safe Is Your Food?

Person Working in Food Processing FacilityYou may be concerned about many things these days – touching your face, handshakes, your mate’s sneeze, even your coworker’s incessant whistling– but you can rest assured America has the safest food industry in the world.

Today the Department of Homeland Security deemed workers in the Food and Agriculture sector – agricultural production, food processing, distribution, and allied industries – as essential critical infrastructure workers. The officials state, “Promoting the ability of our workers within the food and agriculture industry to continue to work during periods of community restrictions, social distances, and closure orders, is crucial to community continuity and community resilience.”

SNAXPO Cancelled Over Virus Fears

Snaxpo 2020 has become the latest casualty of the coronavirus. Trade group SNAC International announced March 5 that the show, scheduled for March 22-24 in Charlotte, N.C., has been canceled. Rescheduling this year is a possible option, according to a statement from Elizabeth Avery, president and CEO of SNAC International.

Joe Pennington Accepted Into Leadership Kansas

Stevenson Company is proud to announce that its very own president, Joe Pennington, has been accepted into the Leadership Kansas class of 2020. Pennington is one of forty individuals who were chosen out of more than 600 nominations this year.

Leadership Kansas is one of the oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership programs in the country.

Santa Got a Brand New Slide, Courtesy of Stevenson Company

chute your eye outWhen it comes to handling precious cargo, Santa knows where to go. The crew at Stevenson Company’s workshop came up with a handy slide for the North Pole as featured in a production of “A Christmas Story the Musical” at Topeka Civic Theatre. In the classic production, grumpy Santa kicks little Ralphie down the slide at Higbee’s department store. The directors at America’s longest running dinner theater called on the Spiral Chute experts to come up with a slide design.
